1. Acceptance Policy: WV Collective reserves the right to accept or decline any contribution, gift, or grant based on its alignment with the mission and objectives of WV Collective.
2. Financial Security: WV Collective will not accept irrevocable gifts, whether outright or life-income, if such acceptance could reasonably jeopardize the financial security of the donor.
3. Tax and Financial Advice: WV Collective does not provide tax or financial advice. Donors are encouraged to consult with their own professional advisors regarding the tax or other treatment of their donations.
4. Accepted Forms of Donation: WV Collective accepts donations in the form of cash or publicly traded securities. In-kind services may be accepted at the discretion of WV Collective.
5. Review of Certain Gifts: Certain non-cash gifts such as real property, personal property, non-liquid securities, and contributions with restricted use or unclear sources will be subject to review before acceptance.
6. Acknowledgment of Gifts: WV Collective will provide acknowledgments to donors meeting tax requirements for property received. However, no value will be assigned to any receipt or acknowledgment for gifts other than cash and publicly traded securities.
7. Donor Intent and Anonymity: WV Collective will honor the donor's intent regarding gifts for restricted purposes and requests for anonymity. Information about anonymous donors will be restricted to staff members with a need to know.
8. Non-compensation Policy: WV Collective will not compensate any third party, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means, for directing a gift or donor to WV Collective.
